Our club was honored af the 2026 Monmouth County Achievement Night last night. Members received Honor Club status and the Social media/website and Community Service awards. Lucas Snedden nominted me for a Leadership award which is only possible when you have great youth to mentor and parents who step up to make the club form a well-oiled machine.

Ryan Colby was honored last night by Monmouth County 4-H with s lifetime Achievement Award. 4-H has certainly impacted Ryan’s life and he has shown great leadership skills in always being ready to give a helping HAND, use his HEAD to solve problems, share his HEART and learn how to improve his HEALTH. Congratulations Ryan.

Baird Homestead 4-Hers made a grave blanket for the grave of Patience Tract, a runaway slave who was caught by a bounty hunter, purchased by a Millstone Quaker and lived the remainder of her life as a part of his family. They also made 50 evergreen swags for the Allrntown Food Pantry.

This is the grave of Patience Tract, a runaway slave who was captured in Millstone. Our 4-Hers made this grave blanket to honor her. The Ely family purchased her so that she could live out her life with them as a free woman. The monument is s mrmorial to the Ely family who farmed here for a century.

Our annual “make chapstick for Cancer patients” is expanding this year to accommodate more 4-Hers. Christina Correa will be in the kitchen at the 4-H building from noon till 8:00 PM this Monday Dec. 29th. Drop by and make a difference.

Holidays on the Homestead featured hot cocoa, house tours, and a Best Holiday cookie contest. Cookie results: Ryan Colby’s M&M Chunky Cookies won the day. 40 Evergreen swags were made for Allentown Food pantry. A grave blanket was created for the grave of Patience Tract, a runaway enslaved woman who was captured by a bounty hunter and purchased by a Quaker farmer. Partience lived out her life as a member of the Ely family in Millstone.
