Had a great birding walk this morning at Foster Creek, a key tributary of the Mills River. We heard a lot of species and spotted some including a black and white warbler and a scarlet tanager. Thanks to Tom and Nancy, two previous presidents of Blue Ridge Audubon Chapter for leading the walk! Also thanks to Pete who has been maintaining the trails in Foster Creek for Carolina Mountain Club. Check out our website for more events this summer like hikes and river cleanups (link in bio).

The kids got in the creek and collected macroinvertebrates which we identified in order to determine water quality. What a great day!
