Important note for overnight hours:
Expect wind gusts of 50–60 mph overnight, capable of producing widespread downed trees and power outages.
The current Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will not be issued for wind threats due to the Tropical Storm Warning covering the threats through the night. Tornado Warnings will still be issued if conditions warrant.

The strongest wind swath is forecast to move into Central Alabama late this evening, spread across the area overnight, and push northward Saturday morning.

Plan now for these damaging winds.
Secure or bring inside loose outdoor items, charge essential devices, and prepare for possible power outages.
Stay indoors during the strongest gusts and keep a reliable way to receive tornado warnings overnight.

🚁 A HUGE THANK YOU to the Air Evac Lifeteam 45 - Fayette, ALTeam! 🚁

Millport Volunteer Fire Department would like to send a very special thank you to Matt Cork and Marc McCrackin with Air Evac 45 for coming to Millport Fire Department and providing our county-wide CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed training.

Each of these classes provides life-saving knowledge and capabilities that we hold incredibly valuable for every one of our members. As first responders, we never know what situation we may face or whose life we may be called upon to help save. Having the proper training and knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference.

We are truly blessed to have such amazing trainers who are willing to share their knowledge, experience, and time with our fire service family. Thank you, Matt and Marc, for investing in our departments and our communities! ❤️🚒

🔥 OUTDOOR BURNING SAFETY REMINDER 🔥

Although we are not currently under a burn ban, we are strongly encouraging everyone to avoid outdoor burning during these extremely dry conditions.

We are experiencing severe drought conditions, and when those conditions are combined with dry fuels and weather that can quickly change, a small fire can become a dangerous situation in a matter of minutes.

🔥 Fire can spread incredibly fast. What may begin as a small, controlled burn can quickly get out of control, threatening land, homes, property, and—most importantly—our firefighters and our community.

Please help us prevent a preventable emergency. If you can postpone burning, please do so until conditions improve.

Our firefighters are always ready to respond, but we would much rather prevent a fire than have to put one out.

❤️ Please help us keep our community, our homes, our land, and our firefighters safe.

We would like to take a moment to give a very special THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our fire station makeover possible!

First, a huge thank you to J. White Construction for the absolutely amazing job painting our fire department! You took our station and gave it a fresh, beautiful new look, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results! 🏠🚒

We also want to sincerely thank Millport Town Mayor Stanley Allred , our Town Council Members, and Clerk Linda Ferguson for supporting our department and helping make this project happen.

A very special thank you to PPG and Everett Cribb for their generosity and for helping make this much-needed update possible. Your support means so much to our department and to the community we proudly serve.

Our station has been a part of this community for many years, and seeing it refreshed and looking this amazing means more to us than we can put into words. This is more than just a fresh coat of paint—it is an investment in our firefighters, our station, and the Millport community.
