Ron Dupuis was one of the founding members of the modern Troop 15. Incorporating many of his cultural values and heritage to our Scouting experience. He introduced us to the totem pole with a bull head on Top. As new members joined the Troop they would receive a claw and a feather, and have a spot to hang it at the bottom of the pole. As young Scouts grew and achieved success by gaining rank they would move their claw gradually up to the top where it was reserved for those who achieved the coveted rank of Eagle Scout. Having a visual depiction of their achievements gave the Boy Scouts of Troop 15 something to strive for and a sense of pride and humility. This is just one of the many things he did for the Troop. During his tenure as assistant Scout Master the Troop grew to a size never thought possible, and the Boys of Troop 15 thrived under his leadership. He was a great Scout Master and great American. Troop 15 owes him a great debt he will be sorely missed. Please feel free to share some of your memories or other things that he contributed to our troop in honor of his passing.
