🏡💛 WE DID IT!!! PIR2PEER IS OFFICIALLY HOME! 💛🏡

Today marks a HUGE milestone for Pir2Peer Recovery Community Center!

We officially closed on 140 Penobscot Avenue in Millinocket! 🎉🔑

What started as a vision is becoming a reality, and today we took one of the biggest steps toward bringing that vision to life.

There is still plenty of work ahead of us, but we are one step closer to opening our doors and creating a space where recovery, connection, hope, and community come together.

🎉 RFP NOW OPEN!

Pir2Peer Recovery Community Center is seeking qualified general contractors for the renovation of our two-story property at 140 Penobscot Avenue in Millinocket. This is an exciting step toward creating a welcoming Recovery Community Center on the first floor and professional office space upstairs.

📍 Mandatory site visit: Friday, October 30, 2026, 9:30–11:30 a.m. Eastern Time

❓ Written questions due: Monday, November 9, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time

📩 Proposals due: Monday, November 23, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Big step for P2P: we’re getting ready to release a Request for Proposals for the renovation of our building at 140 Penobscot Avenue in Millinocket.

We’ll be looking for qualified general contractors interested in helping us turn this space into a welcoming recovery community center, along with professional office space upstairs.

Contractors, keep an eye out for the full RFP and details on the project, timeline, and mandatory site visit. We’re excited to keep moving forward!

A big step forward for P2P: HUD has approved the Environmental Review Record for 140 Penobscot Avenue! 💛

This has been a long, detailed process, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped move it forward. The approval brings us closer to the next steps in acquiring the building and creating a permanent home for recovery, connection, and community in Millinocket.

There’s still work ahead, but today we’re taking a moment to recognize this progress. We’ll keep sharing updates as the project moves forward.

We’ve been a little quiet on here this past week — but definitely not because things have been quiet behind the scenes. 💛

There’s a lot happening as we continue working toward opening Pir2Peer Recovery Community Center, building partnerships, handling all the not-so-glamorous behind-the-scenes work, and getting closer to creating the space our community deserves.

We’ll be sharing more of what we’ve been up to this week. Thank you to everyone who continues to follow along, support us, volunteer, share our posts, and believe in what we’re building.

We’re still here. We’re still working. And we’re getting there. 💛🩵

Today was a good day for P2P. 💛💙

So many conversations, familiar faces, new connections, laughs, hugs, and people stopping by just to see what Pir2Peer is all about.

Days like today are such a good reminder that recovery really is about community and connection. We’re still building, still learning, and still getting P2P out into the world — but it’s pretty amazing watching people already connect with what we’re creating.

And yes… P2P Plinko officially made its debut. 😂🎯

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, talked with us, supported us, played a game, or just came over to say hi. We loved seeing you.

Sneak peek 👀🎯

Something fun is coming to our Recovery Palooza booth!

Our Plinko board is officially in the works, and we are so excited to bring something interactive to the event. Huge shoutout to Haley Wormwood for taking the lead and putting this together, and to Kate Mahar for helping make it happen. 💛

We love seeing people come together to help build something special for P2P. This is just one more example of the heart, creativity, and community support behind what we’re doing.

We can’t wait for everyone to see the finished board — and of course, come play! 🎉

A little behind-the-scenes look at what moving Pir2Peer forward actually looks like. 💛

I spent the day at the building with Maine DEP and Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc. working through environmental and building-related pieces of the project — testing, walkthroughs, planning, questions, and all the details that have to happen before the doors open.

Huge thanks to Ted Wolfertz, Anthony Pias, Chris Redmond, and the team at Sevee & Maher Engineers for spending the day with us and helping move this part of the project forward.

And apparently, Executive Director duties include CHOOSING to enjoy tearing down shelving like a boss and closely educating myself on the inner workings of Engineering 😂

Every one of these steps gets us closer to turning this building into a safe, welcoming recovery community center for Millinocket.
