There’s still time to apply for Heating Assistance and get ahead for the next season. If you haven’t applied since August 1, 2025, you can apply through May 29, 2026.
Applying now puts your benefit in place so it’s ready when the next heating season begins. It’s one less thing to take care of later.
What this looks like:
• Many households receive a benefit of around $570, depending on eligibility
• The benefit can be placed directly on your fuel account for the next season
• You can apply even if heat is included in your rent
• If you qualify, you may also be eligible for help with electric costs through the Low Income Assistance Program
• Benefits remain available through April 30, 2027

Ways to apply:
Call 973-3500 to set up a phone or in-person appointment
Apply online at mainehousing.org
