"I’d like to ask for your prayers for our statewide mentoring program for the over 1,000 PA kids aging out of foster care alone every year. I so wish that you could hear the stories that I hear every week – stories of incredible resilience, courage, love, and strength, but also stories of unspeakable pain, abandonment, loss, and trauma. We have this amazing opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to deeply hurting and lonely youth. We are receiving requests from all over the state for mentors from our churches to walk alongside them as they navigate adulthood without a family. Honestly, I am utterly overwhelmed at the magnitude of the need, but I walk in confidence that I serve a God who hears and answers prayer, who is Provider, Healer, Shepherd, King, and a gentle Savior who sees, loves, and knows each of these young people and their story intimately.
