Our Story
The 2019 Harlem Valley Rail Ride will start and finish at the Eddie Collins Field in Millerton, NY. Millerton was recently ranked as one of America's top 10 coolest small towns in Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel magazine.
Routes: Choose from 23, 33, 45, 57, 72, 80 and 2-different century routes along beautiful, low-traffic country roads, each starting and ending at Eddie Collins Field in Millerton, New York. Within each route, there will be a 4 mile stretch of the car-free Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
Rest Stops: Every 14 miles you’ll find a cheerful oasis! Each rest stop will feature a wide selection of fresh country produce, energy bars and other nourishing snacks. Henceforth, the dictionary definitions of, nutritious, and delicious, will have to be amended, if not wholly rethought.
SAG and Bike Repair: Marshals will follow the groups in cars and on bikes. If you need assistance, call the command center number on your Q sheet, and we will be there right away to help.
Route Markings: Routes are clearly marked with blue arrows, painted onto the road, and signs are posted at turns. Riders will receive Q sheets with directions at the start of the ride. We love to hear from our riders “Even though I had a Q sheet I didn’t need it because the route was so well marked!”
Festival: We conclude our ride at Eddie Collins Memorial Field in Millerton with a country festival! Expect local sweet corn, hot dogs, bratwurst, sausage & peppers, hamburgers, veggie burgers, grilled chicken, pasta, salad, and watermelon triangles.
