Sergeant Daughters brought Razz out to Lake Waterford Park for a special visit with some of our OBI crew—and it’s safe to say Razz made a few new friends!

The Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act (S. 3211) is an important step toward giving DSPs the recognition and support they deserve.

Today, the Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act (S.3211) passed unanimously through an important U.S. Senate committee.

If this bill becomes law, it would create an official job classification for Direct Support Professionals. It means DSPs would finally be recognized as their own profession, helping policymakers better understand the workforce, improve data, and make a stronger case for investments to recruit and retain DSPs.

The bill's next stop is the full U.S. Senate. Our federal partners are working with the bill sponsors and Senate leadership to determine when it will be brought up for a vote, and we'll share updates as we have them.

Recently, OBI had the opportunity to visit the Eastern District Anne Arundel County Police Department for an unforgettable behind-the-scenes tour!

From learning about the work they do every day to exploring the department and meeting the amazing officers who serve our community, it was a fun, educational, and truly memorable experience.

A huge thank you to the Eastern District Police Department for welcoming us and giving OBI this unique opportunity.
