🕺 Day 5 at Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp 2025 was off the charts! Campers channeled major 80s energy: grooming horses, shooting slip-and-slides, crafting kaleidoscopes, and spray-painting neon hats—then capped it all off with an epic Back to the ’80s dance! Visitor Day brought together camp legends past and present—it was pure camp magic.

Welcome back, righteous readers, to another edition of the Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp (MABC) newsletter - the gnarliest way to keep up with what our rad dudes

Today, the IAFF Local 1653 Burn Foundation, in conjunction with IAFF Local 1563 Firefighters, proudly sent campers off to the Mid‑Atlantic Burn Camp — a cost-free to camper (cost is covered by your donations), week-long summer camp for young burn survivors in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

This incredible camp gives kids ages 7–17 the chance to heal, grow, and have fun through classic camp activities like swimming, hiking, crafts, and team sports — plus thrilling adventures like canoeing, climbing, and ropes courses for older campers.

Run entirely by volunteers — including burn survivors, nurses, and firefighters — the camp creates a safe, supportive space where campers build confidence, resilience, and lasting friendships.

We’re honored to support these inspiring kids and wish them an unforgettable week ahead! 💙🔥
