Truckin 4 Troops To support Military Families, Wounded Warriors, and Veterans! To thank them for their service. www.truckin4troops.org 501c3 Many thanks for their support!

In December, 2010, we knew that we wanted to help military servicemen and women and their families in any way that we could. We started with the thought of helping out a military family who was struggling financially and help them with their Christmas gifts. We then started discussing ways to show military families and veterans that we appreciate those who have sacrificed for our country. Scott me

ntioned getting approximately 20 iPod Shuffles to hand out. And Lynne, his wife, said that it wasn't fair to only hand out 20 iPods when there were so many wounded warriors in the hospital. We agreed on a total of 50 iPods and that's where the name "50/50 Shuffle" came from. Each iPod costs $50 and we purchased 50 of them, and they are called iPod Shuffle. Our son informed us that Apple could have them engraved for free. So each iPod was engraved with the words "Thank You for your Service!" Our first order of 50 iPods was then placed. Scott then thought it would be a great idea to put some patriotic songs on the iPods before delivering them to the soldiers. Alot of time and effort has gone into making sure that the songs we picked were commemorative of our appreciation. As soon as word got out of what we were doing, many of our friends and family wanted to contribute too. Since then, we are proud to announce that T4T has hand-delivered over 350 iPod Shuffles to Service Members, their families and the Veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. By the way, the Annapolis Apple store is also helping us out by giving us a 5% discount due to the large quantities ordered. We also wanted to provide transportation for some troops coming home from duty to BWI Airport if they didn't have a ride. We started wondering how we could do it in a "big" way. Our first truck was picked up the week of Jan 24th, 2011. The huge, custom, F650 pickup truck is used in our fundraising and to provide transportation of troops arriving within our region to their home or military installation. A second F650 truck has been purchased because once a small group was not able to be picked up due to only having one truck. Our mission is to increase our fleet of trucks so that no one will ever be left behind again. You may see photos of the trucks on our Truckin4Troops page, or on our website truckin4troops.org

Please feel free to share this page with anyone you know that would be inspired by what we are doing. Any questions or comments, may be emailed to [email protected]. Donations may be mailed to: Truckin4Troops, P.O. Box 831, Millersville, MD 21108

We met Kent at a charity motorcycle ride in upper NY about 5 years ago. We were in our big F650 pickup trucks. After our initial introduction and immediate connection for helping veterans, he told us that not only did he help fundraise for this motorcycle charity, but that he used his rig to deliver for Wreaths Across America. When he mentioned that he was delivering to the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery that year, we said, "hey you have to go past our house to get there". That year, we videoed him driving past our house on his way to the veterans cemetery. Year after year, we either saw Kent on the motorcycle charities or spoke about his next location for Wreaths Across America. Kent is an Army veteran (retired), and a fellow Patriot Guard Rider. Truckin4Troops would like to ask that any of our followers please donate, as they can, to show their support for a veteran in need. Any donations, big or small, will have a positive impact on him and his family during this difficult time of their lives.

We are mourning the passing of one of our amazing Veteran's who was a great friend, neighbor, and a Vietnam Vet. Nick was a person that was always cheerful, helpful, kind and generous. When we had combat wounded veterans here at the house, Nick would stop by to chat and share stories from the older wars to the veterans of the newer wars. Along with socializing with the veterans here, he did carry a pocket camera that printed pictures instantly. He loved handing out those photos. His passion for this country went above and beyond, he was a true American patriot. He would send emails almost daily to keep us updated and informed of what was going on in the world. Nick was near and dear to our heart and will be truly missed.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife, children and family.
