Book Giveaway this week!

Please stop by the school this week (Monday, July 20-Thursday, July 23) from 9am-1pm for a book give away!

There are books for all reading levels that are no longer used in the school and are looking for a good home!

There are also several copies of some novels, which would be perfect to start a Jr. Book Club this summer!

On Wednesday, the PTO Hospitality Committee hosted a special retirement lunch honoring two of Shipley’s finest, Mrs. Karr-Dawson and Mrs. Derlink. Thanks to our 2nd grade families for sponsoring the Chipotle lunch!

The celebration included beautiful bouquets, memory boxes filled with notes from former students, heartfelt videos from their current students, and even a hilarious Mrs. Derlink bobblehead for Mrs. Miller. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!

We wish Mrs. K-D and Mrs. Derlink all the best in retirement. The impact they’ve had on generations of Shipley’s students will never be forgotten!

✨ 10% of all sales during the event will go directly back to the SCES PTO.

🎒 Incoming Kindergartners – Fall 2026 🎒

We are excited to welcome our newest Sharks! Join us in the Shark Café on Thursday, May 21 at 9:00 AM for a special Kindergarten Meet & Greet.

This event is open to all families of incoming Kindergarten students. Feel free to bring your rising Kindergartner so they can meet our teachers, explore a classroom, and participate in a brief activity with the Kindergarten team while parents learn more about our school and ways to support a successful start to Kindergarten.

Next week (May 4–8), we’re celebrating the incredible teachers and staff who pour so much love, patience, creativity, and energy into our students every single day. We’d love for our school community to join in the fun with these simple themed days throughout the week!
