Oh, what a night! Our Annual Italian Dinner was a resounding triumph, raising vital funds to support the families of our fallen fire fighters.

It's no surprise that this event consistently sells out before tickets go on sale. The extraordinary fellowship and delectable Italian meal, lovingly prepared by IAFF Local 1563 President Joe Addivinola and his wife Catherine, inspire a devoted following! Thank you to all who joined us for this unforgettable evening.

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that the Anne Arundel County Fire Department family announces the passing of Firefighter III L. Wayne Brown. Wayne proudly served the residents of Anne Arundel County for 21 years and was most recently assigned to Station 5, Waugh Chapel, as the apparatus driver on B shift. Wayne was an active and proud member of our department who sadly suffered a cardiac medical event while at his home on October 6, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica, his five children, Justin, Nicholas, Summer, Mason, and Kinsley. His parents, Larry and Gertrude, and his three sisters, Christine, Michelle, and Gina, along with numerous family and friends.

This is a tremendous loss and Wayne will be greatly missed by all who worked with him over his many years of service with Anne Arundel County.

For the second year in a row, we were pleased to participate in the Wellness House Summer Camp. As you can see from the video, a fun time was had by all. We have it on good authority that the kids had the most fun on Firefighter Day!😄 👩‍🚒 ❤️

We are so excited to participate in this event again this year and meet these amazing kids! ❤️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒❤️

If your child is dealing with the cancer diagnosis of a loved one, this is a terrific camp that will support their journey. This year, our theme will be Destination Imagination. We will use this as our guide as we offer kids (age 5-13) a week of peer-to-peer connections, exciting guest visitors, and a chance to explore their creativity! Our goal for camp is always to help kids feel connected and to recognize that there are many other kids and families whose lives have been affected by cancer. Unbeknownst to the kids, each day we explore, teach, and build upon various coping skills to help them build their coping toolbox --- to the kids, it just looks like fun! Playing with other kids, learning new art skills, introducing them to yoga/movement, theater, eco-adventure animals, and more!

The camp runs from June 27th to July 1st from 9 am to 1 pm each day. It is free to Wellness House members and lunch is provided!
