Perry Valley Grangers gathered for a moving and reflective September formal meeting.

We were honored to hear from Newport FFA member Lizzie Hoover as she presented her first-place speech on solar panels. Lizzie earned first place at the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention and will represent Pennsylvania at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this October. She did an outstanding job, and we wish her the very best at the national competition! đź‘Ź

We were also pleased to welcome Gavin Fuller as the newest member of the Perry Valley Grange. Welcome, Gavin!

During the evening, we paid tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Together, we viewed a memorial video, observed a moment of silence, and reflected on the courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unity that followed that tragic day. 🇺🇸

The Grange is a nonpartisan organization committed to building connections, strengthening rural America, and improving our communities. We will continue working together to create a better future for the Perry Valley and beyond.

When we say that the Perry Valley Grange is a rural service organization, you may wonder: What does that mean?

It means we have always been committed to serving our community! Since our founding in 1919, service has remained at the heart of our mission.

Just take a look at this newspaper clipping from 1997, featuring some very recognizable Grangers organizing a food drive for Bethesda Mission. Nearly 30 years later, we are still working to make a difference throughout the Perry Valley area and Perry County.

The Perry Valley Grange is proud to recognize Granger Doug Bonsall for his contributions to the new Pennsylvania State Grange Headquarters and Historical Display in Mifflintown!

Doug serves on the Pennsylvania State Grange History Committee, which has worked diligently to curate State Grange records and memorabilia and prepare the new historical display. Their efforts were celebrated with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 29.

Congratulations to Doug and the entire History Committee on preserving and sharing the rich history of the Pennsylvania State Grange for generations to come!

What a busy fifth and final day of the Perry County Fair for the Perry Valley Grange! 🎡

Grangers could be found lending a hand at the Pomona Grange food stand, helping around the livestock barns, scooping at the FFA Alumni Ice Cream Trailer, competing in tractor operations contests, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the fair.

We also welcomed SIX—yes, SIX—new Grange members! 🎉 Please join us in giving a big Grange welcome to Elyse Messimer, Greg Loy, Nicole Herr, Eric Finkenbinder, Kevin Fogleman, and Cody Comp!

What a busy Day 4 at the Perry County Fair! Perry Valley Grangers could be found helping at the Perry County Pomona Grange stand, working in the livestock barns, presenting a check to Bread of Life Outreach, assisting with fair events, and lending a hand in the exhibit halls.

We were also excited to welcome four new Grange members: Will Campenni, Carl McMillen, Brent McMillen, and Sherry McMillen! Please join us in giving them a warm Grange welcome! 🎉

The Perry Valley Grange Youth Leadership Committee was proud to donate $500 to Bread of Life Outreach (BOLO) in Newport from the proceeds of its America 250 Celebration! 🇺🇸

Last year, BOLO served more than 250,000 people by distributing food and essential products to those in need. We are grateful for the organization’s tremendous impact and proud to support this worthwhile cause.

The Youth Leadership Committee gives Grange members ages 14–26 opportunities to develop leadership skills, plan activities, and serve their communities. Young people interested in making a difference, meeting new friends, and growing as leaders are encouraged to join the Grange and get involved!
