Ohio State - Holmes County 4-H

Ohio State - Holmes County 4-H 4-H is a non-formal educational, youth development program offered to individuals age 5 and in kind.

Ohio 4-H youth development reaches more than 240,000 youth each year – helping kids “learn by doing” through hands-on activities. All 4-H programs focus on active involvement and quality experiences which stimulate lifelong learning of values and skills. 4-H members learn valuable lessons in leadership, communication and collaboration while increasing their knowledge in math, science, technology a

nd a variety of other topics.

4-H creates fun while learning in a variety of ways. Kids can participate in 4-H through community clubs, camps, in-school and after-school activities, and summer programs. They increase their self-confidence and personal life skills while learning about specific subjects - anything from animals or computers to public speaking, cooking, art, gardening and environmental sciences, just to name a few project topics. Livestock Skillathon Judging is just ONE MONTH away! Now is the perfect time to start reviewing and preparing for your species-specific stations.

📝Note we have on the calendar this year Skillathon Workdays at the Clark Community Center on July 8 & 9 from 1-4 PM. The actual Skillathon kits will be set up for you to come as long as you feel to go through your species station.

Be sure to select the guide that matches your project species and spend some time brushing up on your knowledge before judging day. A little preparation now can go a long way toward building confidence and success!

👑📣 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 📣👑

✅ County Commissioners Award Applications are now available.Must be a member of a Holmes Countty 4-H club, and must be completing grades 7-12 by May of the current year to be eligiable to apply.

✅ Holmes County Junior Fair King & Queen Applications are now open. You must be at least 16 to 18 years old as of January 1 of the current year to submit an application to apply for the Junior Fair King and Queen Contest.
