(A Dr. Seuss‑ish story for a VERY big boy.)
In a town called Pine Grove, not too far away,
Lives Atlas the Kerr who’s been waiting 810 days.
A brindle big fella with a nubby short tail,
A stray from Auburn who’s ready to bail
From shelter life now — he’s done his long stay,
Two years and two months… he’s EARNED his new day.
He’s 100 pounds of “Oh Lord, he’s LARGE,”
A six‑year‑old dude with a presence in charge.
He’s built like Scar from The Lion King fame,
totally tame.
He’s goofy, he’s loyal, he’s sweet as can be,
He just wants a human (or two… or maybe three).
He’s been patient, he’s hopeful, he’s tried to be strong,
But 810 days is way, WAY too long.
So Atlas declares with a wag and a grin:
“Pick ME, dear humans — I’m ready to WIN!”
He’ll love you, protect you, and sit on your lap
(Yes, all 100 pounds — prepare for a CRAP).
He’s silly, he’s charming, he snores like a truck,
But adopt him today and you’ll run out of luck
Trying to find ANY dog sweeter than he —
He’s your one‑and‑only, your big loyal tree.
So come meet this legend, this brindle delight,
Your giant best friend, your emotional knight.
He’s waited so long — let’s help him go home.
