Celebrating God’s Handiwork: Down Syndrome Awareness Month

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” — Psalm 139:13-14

The altar flowers today are placed in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month by Noah, Peyton, Reba Jane, and Levi Simms. This month is a time to celebrate the truth that every human life is a sacred, intentional creation of God, designed with divine purpose.

This month, we lift up a special prayer of thanksgiving for Levi Simms, a loved little boy in our church family. Levi is a testament to God’s wonderful craftsmanship.

Please join us in praying for Levi and the Simms family this month, thanking the Lord for placing them in our church home, and asking Him to continue guiding and protecting them.

On Wednesday at TeamKID, our older kids learned about forgiveness and how we should forgive others and how God forgives us! And we all enjoyed learning our new song for October. These children are a blessing!

Here’s the message from their lesson : When someone hurts us and we keep holding on to our anger, it can feel like carrying around a heavy backpack. We keep remembering what happened and thinking, ‘I’m still mad!’”
Don’t carry around that in your heart give it to the Lord!

PreK at TeamKID learned that D is for David! They are holding 5 smooth stones just like David did. They even practiced with a slingshot! Lots of learning with crafts and snacks. ♥️

We have been SO blessed by the growing number of children in our church! This past Sunday, we had 30 children from Kindergarten–5th grade in Children’s Church! 🙌

As our ministry grows, we want to make sure we’re serving each age group well. Beginning Sunday, October 4th, we’ll be dividing Children’s Church into two groups:

👧K–3rd Grade: Children will continue enjoying a prepared Bible lesson and activities led by our volunteers.

📖4th–5th Grade — “Little Church”: Our older students will begin transitioning toward the main worship service. They’ll watch the live-streamed service together in a classroom while volunteers help facilitate discussion and guide them in hearing, understanding, and applying the message.

🙋‍♀️WE NEED YOUR HELP!

To make this possible, we need volunteers willing to serve with either age group on Sunday mornings!

You can still sign up on the board in the Sunday School Hall, or use our Google Form to choose the Sunday and age group that works best for you.
