What a weekend for Milly Pickleball! 🏓💚
We had double the pickleball fun with Pickleball Palooza AND Milledgeville’s First Friday, both in partnership with Georgia College & State University’s Parents Weekend.
First up: Pickleball Palooza🎉
On Friday, we teamed up with Georgia College & State University to host a SOLD-OUT event for students and their families in town for Parents Weekend. There was plenty of play, lots of laughs and, we hope, a few new pickleball fans by the end of the day!
A big thank you to our student volunteers: Ava Bilderback, Andrew Sawyer, Paul Brown, and Finn Lawler for volunteering their time and to everyone who joined us. We loved having you on the courts and hope to see you out there again soon!
Then we took pickleball downtown for Milledgeville’s First Friday on Oct. 2!
We set up our booth and mini court, welcomed roughly 100 people who stopped by to play, chat and learn more about pickleball, and somehow even managed to keep the rain away! 🙌
Congratulations to Charlotte Frymann, winner of a Milly Pickleball T-shirt, and Cullen McCormick, winner of a FREE one-hour pickleball lesson!
And another big shoutout to our First Friday student volunteers: Jake Young, Jackson Ferland, Parker Smith, and Kelsie Wright, and our own Milly Pickleball volunteers Lisa Miller and Susan Whittle -- thank you for bringing the Milly Pickleball spirit downtown. 💚
A special thank you to Denny Walton for building the community partnerships that helped make both of these events happen.
Pickleball has a pretty great way of bringing people together, and we’re proud to keep growing both the game and the community here in Milledgeville/Baldwin County and beyond. More people discovering the game means more opportunities to play, more new faces on the courts and more connections across our community. We call that a win-win!
One community. Good people. Great play. 💚🏓
