In a world where boys connect through video games, text message, and social media, the need for a uniquely masculine program that engages boys and empowers men has never been greater. Away from daily concerns, cell phone distraction, social media interaction, and video game pseudo-satisfaction is real world of wonder - A world of adventure and exploration, where crickets chirp, campfires crackle, stars twinkle, freshly caught fish simmer, and pocket knives whittle.

It is a world where time slows down, boys can be boys, and mentoring comes naturally. It is a place where boys naturally look to men for answers. Here, connections deepen, relationships form, and spiritual truths take root.

Seeking men willing to work with boys who need leaders.

CAMP IN THE RAIN.
HIKE THROUGH THE WOODS.
FORGE CHARACTER THROUGH ADVENTURE.

No shortcuts. No comfort zones. And little applause from the world.

Duties Include:
• Guiding young men through uncharted territory (like setting up a tent without instructions).
• Surviving rugged expeditions (15-mile treks… with questionable freeze-dried dinners).
• Enduring epic battles (mostly against the elements).
• Building brotherhood around the fire (and perfecting campfire coffee).

Come join the adventure… if you dare.

Being a Trail Life volunteer ain’t easy…but it just might be one of the most meaningful things you ever do.

He didn’t sign up to change a life. And yet, that’s exactly what he did. He just wanted to help out with his grandson. But then he met Lucas, a boy without a father, and somewhere along the way Bill discovered a calling.

In the steady rhythm of showing up, teaching skills, setting standards, and walking alongside boys, something deeper took root. Trust was built. Identity was shaped. And a young man began to see what godly manhood could look like—up close.

“I thought it was normal for dads to leave,” says Lucas. “I thought that’s just what happens.” But then he stepped into a room full of men who were different. “Through Trail Life, I started to see that not all men are like that. Some men chose to stay.”

That’s the quiet power of Trail Life.

And this National Volunteer Week, we’re grateful for the men like Bill—who show up, stay steady, and quietly change lives.

Not just in the big moments, but faithful presence in all the little ones. Men who stay. Boys who grow. Lives that change—together.

The first failure of manhood wasn’t necessarily rebellion. It was silence. In the Garden, Adam watched the serpent deceive—and said nothing. That quiet surrender set a pattern generations have followed.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

At Trail Life USA, boys are learning to break the silence. To speak truth when it’s easier to stay quiet. To step forward when others retreat. To pray boldly and expect God to act.

This is how boys become REAL men:
- They Reject Passivity
- They Expect God
- They Accept Responsibility
- They Lead Courageously

And it starts now—on the trail. Around the fire. In the moments that forge manliness. Want to raise boys into men who don’t flinch, flee, or fade into the background?
