Today, we celebrate the 251st Birthday of the United States Army and honor the generations of Soldiers who have answered the call to serve our nation with courage, commitment, and selfless service.

Since June 14, 1775, the Army has stood as a symbol of strength, resilience, and dedication, protecting the freedoms we cherish and supporting communities at home and abroad.

Georgia Military College proudly joins the nation in recognizing the men and women who have served—and continue to serve—in the United States Army. Thank you for your sacrifice, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our country.

Today, Georgia Military College proudly celebrates Flag Day and honors the American flag as a symbol of our nation’s history, values, and freedoms.

At GMC, respect for the flag is woven into our tradition of developing leaders of character. By teaching cadets the meaning behind our nation’s colors and the sacrifices made to preserve them, we help instill a sense of patriotism, service, and responsibility that will guide them throughout their lives.

On this Flag Day, we reflect on the principles of duty, honor, and country that the flag represents and express our gratitude to those who have defended them.

Come celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Georgia Military College at a community Movie Night on Grant Parade Field! We’ll be showing National Treasure, followed by an incredible fireworks show, presented by Exchange Bank.

Date: Saturday, June 27
Time: Gates open at 5:00 p.m. | Movie begins at 7:30 p.m.
Location: 201 East Greene Street, Grant Parade Field

Bring your family, friends, and your picnic setup—blankets, towels, and lawn chairs are all welcome! It’s a relaxed, picnic-style evening filled with food trucks, concessions, music, and a summer night you won’t forget.

While completing his studies at the U.S. Army War College prior to his June 5th graduation, GMC alumnus LTC Eric Giannaris (JC '04) connected with Georgia Military College Prep School Principal COL Amy Lee and GMC Board of Trustees Secretary Emilie Reynolds, who were selected to represent Georgia Military College at the prestigious National Security Seminar (NSS) hosted by the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The NSS is a four-day event that brings together Army War College students and distinguished guests to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange perspectives on current national security issues.

No matter where they go, members of the GMC family continue to make connections, build relationships, and represent our institution with pride. We love seeing Bulldogs find each other in places near and far! 🐾
