Wheww, 9 years without you... This day never fails to come around year after year and the pain that it brings never eases up. He should still be here with his family as should Sgt Billue, had it not been for the choices or two inmates.

We will forever honor and remember the life you lived and the heart that was you. We lost a part of ourselves the day you were taken from us. And now we fight to keep your memory alive and fix those pieces we lost.

You will never be forgotten Sgt Monica, Loving husband, dad and PopPop.

On this day in 2017, Sgt. Curtis Billue and Sgt. Christopher Monica lost their lives at the hands of inmates during an escape from a transport bus.

*Life Update*

A couple months ago we met with T Wright Barksdale, Rick Williams For Georgia, Howard Sills and Allison Mauldin; where we were informed that it had been presented to Legislation for a portion of State Route 16 to be in memorial of both Sgt. Monica and Sgt. Billue.

Fast forward to today Mr Williams came to our store and presented us with THE General Assembly Resolution; that it has been passed that a portion has been approved to be Dedicated as *Christopher Monica and Curtis Billue Memorial Highway*

We are extremely thankful for these individuals feeling led to push for this to be a remembrance and reminder of the lives that were lost on this roadway. And for them to be forever remembered not just by the families but by the community.

We will update as this moves along. We appreciate each of y'all for helping us keep Sgt. Monica's memory alive as well as his legacy.
