All proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales will be used by Friends of Millbrook Library to underwrite activities and programs outside the library’s operating budget.

Local author and perennial Lit Fest favorite Karen Kaufman Orloff is Jeopardy famous! Her book was featured in the double jeopardy round of the May 3 episode: "Spoiler alert: the answer is finally yes in the kids' book about a boy who pleads, "I wanna" this reptile". How cool is that! Sadly, Thich Nhat Hanh, the author of the wonderful "How To" books we celebrated at last year's Millbrook Literary Festival, has passed away. Thank you to Merritt Bookstore & Toystore for introducing us to his philosophy.

A monk with global influence and an ally of Martin Luther King, he championed what he called “engaged Buddhism,” applying its principles in pressing for peace.

We ❤ our local newspapers! Thank you to The Millerton News for writing about us. One thing we want to correct though--our festival was started in 2008 by Scott Meyer, not years later as a memorial to him. We miss him every day.
