On the evening of Wednesday, June 3, 2026 the Millbrae Lions Club showed appreciation for the Millbrae Leos and parents during a dinner at the Millbrae Recreation Center. First VP John Hippely headed the meeting (President John Celentano had a personal matter), and "Leos Advisors" Lion Angie Cahalan and Lion Alia Salem gave presentations on the Leos accomplishments. Each attending Leos Club officer received a certificate of appreciation. In addition to several reports and announcements a number of Millbrae Lions received certificates from District 4-C4 on being Lions for 50 years or more including Lions Ken Fowler, PP Tom and Dave Enberg and PP Rich Bortolin. The meeting concluded with Lion Ron Frediani winning Lion Rich Bortolin's marble-game (that took most of the term to complete). Thanks to all the Lions, Leos and friends who participated, and those who provided food and refreshments. The event was a great success! From Lion PP Paul Larson.

Picture Group 8 – Sunday morning cabinet reports, acknowledgments and convention close, May 17, 2026.

The May 13-17, 2026 Lions District 4-C4 Convention is now in the history books and still creating more history! District Governor Cindy Zheng is winding down her very productive term with exciting statistics and accomplishments, and in the wings for 2026-27 are newly elected top tier leaders 2nd VDG Asia Kan, 1st VDG Maryah Tucker, and incoming DG Jimmy Ness (who is “jumping” into his term “splashingly”… see the pictures of the “Jimmy-Jump”).

A great group of Millbrae Lions made the trek to Redding, California including PDG Mike & Jane Simonini, Pres. John Celentano, PP Ron & Carol Frediani, PP Mike Gianni, PP Paul Larson, PP Calvin Chin, 1st VP John Hippely, Secretary Juan Gamez, Wilson Yee and Jeff Spicker (including First Responders Lions Club & friends of Millbrae Jim & Patty Pappas, along with Burlingame Lion Erik Winkler) who participated in the Friday costume parade, the evening amateur show, cooked short ribs at the Saturday International Food Fair, acknowledged with first-place for the Millbrae Lions Hospitality Suite, and took part in a variety of other activities and fun.

Lions from clubs all over District 4-C4 had a great time during this convention weekend, with their own varied experiences of learning, socializing and participating. Attending first-timers guaranteed they’d be back again next year!

Thanks to all the Millbrae Lions who attended and helped to create a spectacular time, not only for our members but those Lions we met, interacted with and created new bonds with.

This is the last year we’ll meet at the Red Lion Hotel in Redding (for the foreseeable future). It was voted on that for 2027 the District 4-C4 Convention will be at the Hilton in Sacramento. Even though the upcoming venue is in a different configuration (high rise hotel as opposed to an open outdoor courtyard) we will make it another great experience as always.

Thanks for everything you do, from Lion PP Paul Larson.

Picture Group 7.1 - Saturday morning "Cabinet Meeting" conclusion... the jump into the pool that changed the world! Lion 1st Vice District Governor Jimmy Ness concluded the meeting with a promise: If all those at the meeting donate to LCIF via Lion Amy Fink, and if a certain amount is raised, Lion Jimmy will jump into the pool (just outside the Sundial Room). Jimmy noted, that this will be the last time we'll ever see him wear this cabinet uniform. For 2027 Lion Jimmy as Governor will be replacing the current cabinet uniform with custom Hawaiian shirts. After everyone left the Sundial Room and gathered outside by the pool Lion Jimmy kept his promise and made the "Jimmy-Jump" leaping cannon-ball style into the pool, swimming to the end, followed unexpectedly by 2nd VDG Maryah Tucker, and then newly elected VDG Asia Kan! See the video from May 16, 2026 below...
