Another new Millbrae Lion, Yukari Chamberlain, was inducted at Green Hills Country Club during our meeting of Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Along with a number of visiting guests and potential Lions, the room was at capacity, with an extra table brought in to accommodate the attendees. Lion President John Hippely began the meeting shortly after 7pm, and dinner was served promptly following the pledge, song and invocation. Lion PP / Second VP Ron Frediani introduced us to visiting Lions and guests.

After the meal Lion President John reminded us of Lion Oscar Loza’s birthday with the room breaking out singing “Happy Birthday”. Lion President John then introduced Lion IPP John Celentano who proceeded with the induction ceremony with PDG Mike Simonini, along with sponsor Lion Wilson Yee and a speech by our newest Millbrae Lion Yukari Chamberlain. Next Lion Secretary Juan Gamaz showed his appreciation for the Lions and crew who helped put together the hugely successful “Millbrae Machines” car show from that past Saturday. Lion PP Tom Enberg gave a preview of the upcoming Calcutta Night at our September 16th meeting. Lion Mayor Steve Rainaldi made a presentation to Lion Ken Fowler for his over 7 decades as a Millbrae Lion, and Lion Whitney Broussard asked for volunteers to help serve drinks at the upcoming Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. The meeting concluded with Lion Betcy Jacob conducting a raffle, and Lion PP Rich Bortolin conducting the marble game.

Greetings Millbrae Lions... News from our 1938 MLC charter night at Green Hills Country Club!..
I made these scans from the original Millbrae Sun newspaper in the early 2000's for our MLC webpage. I was "webmaster" and created that original page using simple HTML code. I kept up that first MLC webpage until it was hacked in 2015. Most of the content was lost, but I still have records and pictures...

Lots of chatter from various sources on yesterday's August 15, 2026 extremely successful MILLBRAE MACHINES car show on Broadway. Thanks to the Millbrae Lions Club for months of hard work organizing this much anticipated event. I had a conflicting Chapel of the Highlands commitment but was able to walk to Broadway for 15 enjoyable minutes. We all look forward to next year, from Lion PP Paul Larson. ..

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026 the Millbrae Lions Club met at the Sixteen Mile House for a lively meeting with Lion President John Hippely presiding as President. A nice Prime Rib dinner was enjoyed by all our Lions & guests. After a number of announcements and reports on upcoming projects, including details on "Millbrae Machines" this Saturday August 15th, the meeting concluded with a raffle and mystery-wrapped-prizes to choose from, along with Lion PP Rich Bortolin’s marble game. Thanks to all who put this meeting together and to all who attended. Everyone had a good time, from Lion PP Paul Larson.

Millbrae Lions Club President John Hippely's Aloha Dance & District Installation Video Part 3:
This whirl-wind weekend of July 24, 2026 included a fully packed excursion hosted by 4-C4 District Governor Jimmy Ness and Lion Melite Wood for Lions International President Mark Lyon and his wife Lion Lyn. Not only did Lion Jimmy & Lion Melite tour their guests on several trips around San Francisco, but on Saturday evening, July 25th the IP & his wife were the guests of honor at the District 4-C4 Officers Installation gala at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae. Lion IP Mark was the installing officer. The event was spectacular with music, Hawaiian dancers and song along with several Aloha buffets and a roast pig. Lion IP Mark was an enthusiastic guest presenting a number of Peace Poster plaques, and inturn Millbrae Mayor Lion Steve Rainaldi and Foster City Mayor Art Kiesel offered resolutions of gratitude to Lion IP Mark.

A good group of Millbrae Lions were in attendance, in addition to myself (acting as the Installation MC) and Mayor Steve Rainaldi were PDG Mike & Lion Jane Simonini, PP Lynn Clinton, Secretary Juan Gamaz, and President John Hippely & Lolly.

This highly anticipated event went above and beyond expectations and was one for the 4-C4 history books. We are grateful to Lion IP Mark and Lion Lyn wishing them safe travels, now continuing on Sunday to their next destination in Minnesota.

Thanks to Lion DG Jimmy & Lion Melite for creating this fantastic weekend, to the Installation committee for their hard work, and all who helped to put this event together, congratulations to all the 4-C4 Officers, committee members and all those with district position, club positions, members, dignitaries, Lions from other districts and friends who attended. We have an exciting term to look forward to.
