Sharing an upcoming training opportunity for first responders and community partners!

SHIELD Training will be held September 2 at Mountain Gateway Community College – Moomaw Center in Clifton Forge. The program focuses on strategies for responding to substance use-related calls, protecting first responders, reducing stress and burnout, and supporting recovery in the community.

Community leaders, healthcare workers, and others are also welcome. Continuing education credit is available.

Last night marked the beginning of a new journey for 20 future EMTs.

The room was filled with a great mix of experience and new faces. Some have spent years around EMS, while others are just getting started. They all came together with one common goal…..to help others when it matters most.

We’re excited to have Mandi McComas leading the class as instructor while mentoring Donna Hurst and Taylor Conley as they work toward earning their EMS Instructor (EC) certification. It’s exciting to see the next generation of instructors growing alongside the next generation of EMTs.

We can’t wait to watch these 20 students grow over the coming months. Good luck to each of you!
