Our newest addition in our office is our Positivity Tree!

Igniting Potential: Growing Together with Big Brothers Big Sisters

Just as the Very Hungry Caterpillar grows and transforms throughout its journey, every child has the potential to grow, discover, and become who they are meant to be.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we believe potential is ignited through meaningful connections, commitment, encouragement, and support. Each colorful tag on our tree represents an important part of the mentoring journey; helping children discover their strengths, build confidence, and imagine new possibilities for their future.
Our Bigs don’t determine who their Littles will become. They walk alongside them, offering the encouragement and support that help each child recognize the possibilities within themselves.
Because when we invest in children, nurture their potential, and give them someone who believes in them, we help spark a transformation that can last a lifetime.

Igniting potential. Inspiring possibilities. Changing lives one match at a time.

We had the best day and so rewarding!

Partnering with NC Regional Equestrian Special Olympics was amazing. We saw former Hugh School Bigs volunteering, current High School Bigs volunteering, friends from partner programs, some of our Little’s and a parent of a former High School Big. The absolute best part of the day was helping with the awards ceremonies getting to es**rt the athletes to the award podium. A day filled with excitement, kindness and honor.♥️♥️

We are all set up at the Do Not Lose Hope Remembrance Walk. Who doesn’t smile when they see little rubber ducks!

Last Thursday, the High School Bigs of Lake Lure Classical Academy met with their Littles for the first time!

While getting to know each other and making plans for future activities together, we all made our very own "Pocket Worry Monster". These are small monsters our Littles can carry around and hold tight when they are feeling things like sadness, anxiety, or fear. They can give their overwhelming feelings to their monster, and the monster will either scare the feelings away or be by their side to deal with them. This can be a helpful coping mechanism that a Big and Little can share to help talk about their feelings and how to manage them.

We have a great group of kids at this school, and we can't wait to see what this year has in store!
