🎉 We are proud to share some exciting news from ASCEND DECA! 🎉

ASCEND DECA has been recognized by DECA Inc. as Oregon’s only statewide winner of the 2026 Advocacy Campaign Award 🏆

This recognition highlights the impact of a student-led, month-long advocacy campaign focused on elevating Career & Technical Education (CTE) across our school, community, and state.

Throughout the campaign, our students demonstrated incredible leadership by:

• Writing impact letters and engaging directly with policymakers
• Providing public testimony to advocate for CTE
• Presenting to our school board on student pathways and opportunities
• Hosting career pathway panels with industry professionals
• Organizing a “What is DECA?” community information night
• Leading workshops, student challenges, and real-world small business consulting projects

These efforts were intentionally designed to amplify student voice, strengthen community connections, and increase awareness of the value of CTE programs.

This award is especially meaningful because it reflects the collective support of our entire ORCA community. The involvement and encouragement of our superintendent, school board, and administration made these opportunities possible and helped empower our students to lead with purpose.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the initiative, professionalism, and passion they brought to this work. They are truly making an impact—both locally and across the state of Oregon.
