Today, Hawaiʻi-ANA honors Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.
As nurses, we recognize the importance of advocating for dignity, inclusion, and health equity for all communities. We honor the contributions, leadership, and strength of Black nurses and healthcare professionals who continue to make a profound impact on patient care and our profession.
Together, we remain committed to building a healthier, more equitable future for everyone. ❤️🖤💚

📣 Advocating for Our Future Nurses 📣

The American Nurses Association (ANA) is standing strong in support of the bipartisan Nursing is a Professional Degree Act (H.R. 8691 / S. 4568) 💙

This critical legislation would restore access to federal loan support for nurses pursuing advanced degrees like MSN, DNP, DNAP, and PhD in Nursing 🎓

Without it, new federal rules could create serious financial barriers for nurses continuing their education—at a time when our healthcare system needs them most 🚑

🗣️ ANA is calling on Congress to act NOW. Every delay puts nursing students, educators, and patient care at risk.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: Nurses & Medical Professionals Targeted 🚨

Please be aware of an active phone scam affecting healthcare professionals across Hawaiʻi.

Fraudsters are posing as state officials and contacting nurses and other licensed professionals, claiming there is an investigation against them. They may ask for personal information or even demand money.

⚠️ Know the signs:
• No legitimate agency will ask for sensitive information or payments over the phone
• Official investigations are communicated in writing on letterhead
• Caller ID can be spoofed — don’t trust it alone

✅ What to do:
• Hang up immediately
• Do not share personal information
• Verify by contacting DCCA directly
• Report the call to your licensing board or PVL

📞 Contact PVL: 1-844-808-3222 (Ext. 1)
