Oahu Kraken

10/08/2026

Good evening everyone! The HSF Volleyball playoffs are upon us! Please come support! We are praying both our boys and girls will make the playoffs, but we will update as soon as we know the results of the semi-finals. For now plan on the following on Saturday 10/10.

9:00 AM - Girls Semifinals vs LBS
12:45 PM - Monster Semi-Final Game Boys vs. CCCS
3:15 PM - Girls Championship (tentative)
5:45 PM - Boys Championship (tentative)

We hope to have face-painting, balloons, and loads of sheer ridiculousness. Even if you don't have a volleyball player, please come support...one of the highlights of the year. We will confirm if/what teams make the championships as soon as we know! All games at Calvary Chapel Honolulu on Komo Mai in Aiea. See you there!

So we firmly believed it wasn't a matter of IF, but WHEN and WHO. Well today we got the great news that we have our first Kraken collegiate basketball player!!!! Lucy Clason has successfully made the team as a freshman for the Chaminade Silverswords. Yes, playing homeschool sports comes with challenges. It is hard to align schedules, find gyms, and sometimes even find opponents. But it doesn't mean you can't play intercollegiate athletics, and we are confident that Lucy and others will prove that's the case. And even more convincingly, Lucy has always played for homeschooled teams...the West Michigan Hornets, the KC Metro Mavericks and now the Kraken. And it has been a lot of work...she's been lifting since she was a freshman in high school, regularly completing 3-level scorer workouts, and playing club basketball in the offseason. Lucy was a two-time Kraken MVP, won back to back Hawaii Schools Fellowship Championships, and missed a Division 3 National Christian HomeSchool Basketball Championships by about four points in her last year. We are so grateful for all the coaches, family, and friends that poured into her over the years....most recently Coach Zhen Mefford with Kraken and Coach Ryan Matsuda and Christian Christobal with her club team, Na Manahine. Above all we praise our LORD and Savior for allowing Lucy to steward the gifts she's been given and enjoy this opportunity. We look forward to seeing her in action...let's go Kraken! We hope there will be many more like Lucy!

The Oahu Kraken hold our record 11 of these spots…
2 Teams (Boys 16u and Boys 18u) attending Big South Regionals for the FIRST time.

🚨 1,186 TEAMS! RECORD-BREAKING MOMENTUM! 🚨

When we opened registration on September 1st, we knew the 2026-27 season was going to be big. But what happened at last night's deadline was absolutely historic. 🤯

In just 15 days, an unprecedented 1,186 TEAMS locked in their registration for the NCHC post-season!

To put that in perspective: over the last two years, we have combined for over 2,500 teams. Hitting 1,186 teams right now puts us almost at our entire historical yearly average—and that is before we have even finished processing the massive wave of new organizations currently applying to be added to the association!

This staggering momentum is a testament to the thousands of compliant, dedicated families and leaders who are committed to the integrity, competition, and Christ-centered foundation of the NCHC.

Missed the Early Bird? Registration is still open as we move to the Last Chance Discount ($50 saving per team, per event)! We are officially on pace for the largest season in our 36-year history.

Our 8U HAS GOT TO STOP! Someone is going to die of a heart attack. Down 2 with 4.2 seconds left? No problem....

Asher Heldt rolls the ball perfectly to half court
Chloe Clason sets up the play and reverses with a great pass
Jude Clason and Levi Slavens set a perfect gate screen...
And ISAIAH IMIG drains the game-winning buzzer be**er with ice in his veins.

So much fun! Way to go 8U!
