Maria had not sat at a table with others in a long time… Life had shifted. Loss, change, and time created distance between her and the kind of connection she once had.

She was not in crisis. But she was alone.

Someone told her about Community Dining. She almost did not come and walking into a room full of people when you have been isolated can feel overwhelming. Even intimidating.

But she came anyway.

She sat quietly at first. Then someone sat next to her. A simple conversation started. Nothing forced. Nothing complicated. Just presence.

Week by week, she came back. Not just for the meal, but for the space. Today, she no longer sits alone.

Because sometimes what people need most is not just food. It is a place to belong again.

Imagine needing help, but dreading how it might feel to ask for it. That is why the Peret Food Pantry was built differently.

Here, people are not handed a box. They are invited to choose. To move through the space with dignity. To feel respected in a moment that could easily feel heavy.

Because how someone receives matters just as much as what they receive.

Numbers tell part of the story... 440,000+ meals distributed, 9,700+ pantry visits, and Thousands of volunteer hours.

But behind every number is a name. A story. A moment where someone did not have to figure it out alone. That is the real impact.

This is what happens when a community decides to show up for one another.

What does it look like when someone finally exhales?

For many who walk through our doors, it looks like a warm meal, a full grocery bag, or a simple conversation where they are seen and not judged.

But it does not stop there. It becomes connection, It becomes stability, It becomes the beginning of something new.

At The Storehouse Project, we do more than meet needs. We walk with people as they rebuild.

There is something powerful about people coming together with one shared purpose: helping others move forward.

Every meal served, every donation given, every hour volunteered, and every kind conversation becomes part of a larger story of hope, dignity, and restoration.

At The Storehouse Project, this work is not just about meeting immediate needs. It is about reminding people they are seen, valued, and not alone while helping create pathways toward stability, connection, and growth.

When you support this work, you become part of that impact.
You become part of the reason someone keeps going. 🤎

Service is not always loud.
Sometimes it looks like a smile at the door, a listening ear, a consistent presence, or a simple act of kindness that reminds someone they matter.

At The Storehouse Project, we believe transformation often begins through ordinary moments done with compassion, dignity, and intention.

Every meal shared, every conversation held, and every volunteer who shows up becomes part of something bigger than themselves.

Simple actions create lasting impact. 🤎

A meal can fill a plate. But shared meals rebuild something deeper.

Every week, people walk into Community Dining carrying more than hunger. They carry stress. Isolation. Uncertainty… And they sit at a table.

Last year, 6,872 meals were served through Community Dining.

But what matters most is what happens beyond the meal:
Conversations begin.
Names are remembered.
People return—not because they have to, but because they want to.

That is community.

👉 Volunteer and serve a meal that means more
👉 Support a space where connection is rebuilt
