Unfortunately, Parade is a no-go. The set-up area is flooded and rain is not going to let up. Antique cars and bands can't handle the rain. Sorry, folks. 2 cancellations in 76 years is a pretty good track record. See you next year.

The Council President’s Membership Challenge

If you (Scout, parent, volunteer, or professional) recruit 5 new youth members to Daniel Webster Council (no Webelos crossovers count; five new to Scouting members, or re-signing up Scouts after a one-year absence from Scouting) between now and December 31, once those recruits are verified you will be deemed to have done “outstanding performance” for Scouting in NH, and will receive the limited edition President’s Challenge Coin.

You will also grow Scouting in your own council here in NH. The new recruits need not all be recruited to one unit. Recruit your cousin in Keene, recruit your other relatives in Barrington. Recruit folks in your Sunday School class. Recruit distant family friends in Hart’s Location. Recruit the folks you played regional travel soccer with who came from various towns. Give more youth (and particularly those 11-14 who never participated in Cub Scouts) the opportunity to enjoy, participate and grow in Scouting.

Special additional mystery gift if you “dig in” and recruit 5 new members before December 1st.

To Our Valued Wreath Customers: Troop 4 is announcing that we are canceling our 2020 wreath sale. Due to challenges partially related to COVID, our distributor is not certain that it can provide us with our wreath order on a timely basis. The restricted border with Canada and the wildfires out West only add to the challenges. Also, as a Troop, we will not be able to do our big group event to decorate the wreaths.

We wish we did not have to cancel our sale as our Troop relies on this wreath sale to fund more than 90% of our Troop activities. Our Scouts also love delivering the wreaths as they see the happiness on their customers’ faces! However, it would be worse if we disappointed our customers due to wreath shortages or had a health issue because of the sale. We expect to be back in business for the 2021 holiday season and hope you will ypurchase from us then.

We wish you and your families a peaceful and healthy holiday season. On to 2021! Take care, Troop 4

Wonderful opportunity for the whole family.
Congratulations Troop 4 on preparing the young men in Milford, NH to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law for over 100 years. I started my adult leadership journey in the Boy Scouts almost 40 years ago in your Troop. I still remember the day when I was asked to become your Scoutmaster after just turning 21 years old. I was serving in the Air Force and assigned to a Government installation near by. Even though I was only there for 4 years as your Scoutmaster, they were some of the best I have experienced and will always be inscribed on my heart. I went on to serve as a Scoutmaster in 4 more Troops around the Country as well as being a Cubmaster in a very large Pack. Today, I serve as member of a Council Key-3. As Scouting moves into it’s next 100 years, I know Troop 4 will be leading the way and your compass pointing North.
