Milford SnowTrekkers, Inc. Our club is located in the Milford, NY area of Central New York. We are active members of NYSSA (New York State Snowmobile Association).

We have been promoting safe and responsible snowmobiling since the club formed in 2001 and incorporated in 2002.

On the horizon, we have our typical 3" plus "sap snow" outlook for mid March, should it happen, it doesn't look to be anything we'll be taking care of at this point, due to thawing and spring melt and temps...until that comes about...Trails are Closed!

Update: Sled is removed and the spot it was in does not usually have standing water, but with initial snow amounts followed by rain and again by snow and again cold...nearby beaver dam, though small, let loose.

With the depth of snow we got, any low lying areas that don't drain well are proving to be troublesome until they freeze over. Club Trail 830 going to the Pit Stop for gas is one of those...use caution or avoid if possible, there is sled sunk in there currently and we'll try and aid in its removal tomorrow when possible.

Trails may have hidden hazards with winds we had...use caution ⚠️ between Sibley Gulf and Eggleston Hill on C7E until downed trees can be taken care of, they are passable. Also noted wet spots off Lower Dutch Hill, C7D, by bridge due to lower lying area and ongoing efforts by the beavers.

2nd off...I can't believe the number of sleds out when it was clearly stated "trails remain Closed " and then to hear the following from a landowner...

"Not sure if it will take peer pressure from those who know these people or a visit from a sheriff but there are snowmobilers out on trails especially last night, tearing up my moms hill OFF TRAIL- going up and down her hill. Then they swing over the hill to my property and make some loops in the field. Last night there were two of them around 7pm and then again at 9pm. No trailer at Paul’s gas’s station this time, no marked trucks…
Oh, that's right "Trails we're Closed" And then we had people trailer in to ride "Closed Trails" And the we had people riding "Landowner Closed Off Trails" while our "Trails are Closed" and the reroute is clearly marked.
To us it is a Complete Disregard and Disrespect to our Club for what we do to make these trails happen and to our Landowners for allowing the use of their property!
We do not have "play areas"..."Stay On The Trail"
We are again in jeopardy of losing access for our groomers and fuel from the actions of a few...if this continues, there will no longer be trails to access locally!

First off, I really want to Thank all of the crews that spent a good number of hours over the weekend to finish up making the trails ready to open...over all, snow depths averaged at or below our basic minimal amount 8"... Higher elevations were around 10" and lower elevations struggling to make 4" and many water holes are open.

4 hrs later...

With all the hard work the club puts into the trails we now have to close Trail C7B in Mount vision and the end of trail S 77 that comes into the corridor per the owners request, due to the fact some snowmobilers tried finding an alternative route around the corn and have disrespected land owners. I hope the individuals that did this will have enough respect to apologize, as of right now the trail is closed.
