On Sunday, September 12, 2021, Temple Lodge No. 9 and JP’s on the Wharf will hold our 14th Annual Crab Feast & BBQ. The event will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with the last seating at 2:30 PM. It will be held at JP’s on the Wharf (201 Hubbard Avenue, Frederica, DE 19946). The menu includes crabs, shrimp, clams, hush puppies, corn on the cob and chicken. TICKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR AND MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. There will be a 50/50 and opportunities to bid on prizes. All proceeds will benefit Temple Lodge No. 9’s distressed Master Masons and their families.

In our efforts to continue to offer a cost savings to the lodge, we are now offering the opportunity to purchase your tickets to our 14th Annual Crab Feast online.

Grand Lady, Lisa Haass, is working on a gathering to be held for the ladies during the visit of the Grand Master, while we are at lodge.

It will be held on May 6, 2021 at 6:30 PM at Irish Eyes (105 Union Street, Milton DE 19968). All Temple 9 ladies are welcome to attend. It is not a Grand Lodge function, but a great get together time. Ordering will be off the restaurant menu and the cost of meal and drinks will be on you.

Brethren, unfortunately due to low interest and insufficient ticket sales, I have made the difficult decision to cancel our Crab Feast To-Go scheduled for September 13. I appreciate the support of the Crab Feast committee and thank Brother Pete and his Lady Roberta at JP's Wharf for working with us through the challenges presented by the current health crisis while still trying to put on a great event. Hopefully, as we move past COVID-19 and find normality, we will be able to return to our Crab Feast sometime in 2021. For those who purchased tickets, refunds have been processed through PayPal and should be processed within 5-10 business days. Our first scheduled communication for this masonic year remains unchanged, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all next Thursday, September 10th, at 7:30pm. -WM John W. Cannon

On behalf of Worshipful Master Matt Thompson, and with the deepest condolences of our lodge, I announce the passing of Most Worshipful James A. Pletz, PGM, who passed to the celestial lodge above on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. PGM Pletz was a member of Brandywine Lodge No. 33, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1979. He was installed as Grand Master in October 1991, selecting as his theme "Caring and Sharing."

Pursuant to Directive 1 of Most Worshipful Evan R. Moody, Grand Master of Masons in Delaware, all Masonic activities in Delaware are cancelled through May 31, 2020. This includes, “but not limited to, Stated Communications, Special Communications, Masonic Social Functions (includes any Masonic supported/sponsored event that involves the public), Masonic Workshops, as well as youth group and community meetings/events that may be scheduled in your lodge building.”
