We were so honored to give these quilts to the Spencer Hospital so they can comfort those in need. 🥰🪡

A heartfelt thank you to the Blue Water Quilters' Guild for their generous donation of handmade quilts. These beautiful quilts will be given to patients throughout the Medical/Surgical and ICU units, including those receiving hospice and comfort care. These quilts offer warmth, comfort, and a reminder that they are surrounded by a caring community.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, talent, and compassion poured into each quilt and the comfort they will bring to patients and their families. The Blue Water Quilters' Guild is a group of talented quilters from the Iowa Great Lakes area who meet monthly at the First Lutheran Church in Milford. Their dedication to serving others through their craft makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we care for.

May was our "Magazines Can Inspire" challenge show. We each tore out a random page from a non-quilting magazine and were challenged to create a quilt inspired by that page. Grateful for the awesome participation we had and for such beautiful works! Well done Quilters!!! 🪡🧵🤩

What a night! Our Show & Tell overflowed with inspiration — more than 30 beautiful projects shared by our talented members. After that creativity boost, we jumped into our group project and stitched blocks for our Fair Collaboration quilt. This special quilt will be raffled at the Clay County Fair to support improvements to the Creative Arts building. Quilting together for a cause we love feels pretty great. Our next meeting is Monday the 18th at 6:30pm.

🧵✨ February Guild Recap: Stories, Spark, and Spotlight Moments
In addition to our monthly show and tell, we had the joy of spotlighting three of our members and what a treat it was. Each shared their quilting history, the first stitches, the projects that lit them up, and the pieces that stretched their skills in the best ways.
A beautiful theme emerged: how guild challenges have shaped their creativity. From trying new techniques to embracing unexpected color palettes, each maker reflected on what they learned and how those challenges helped them grow.
It was an evening full of heart, laughter, and inspiration. We’re so grateful for the stories shared and the community that makes nights like this possible. Here’s to carrying that spark into the months ahead. 💛

🧵✨ Show & Tell Highlights + What’s Coming Next!
Last month’s meeting was pure joy — Quilt Charades had us laughing, guessing, and cheering each other on. I’m still smiling looking back at all the creativity and chaos.
Today I’m sharing a few of the gorgeous Show & Tell pieces from that night. Our guild’s talent never disappoints.
And this month, we’re shifting the spotlight in a new direction. ⭐️
At our next meeting (Monday, Feb 16th), we’ll be featuring four incredible members and their quilting journeys. It’s going to be inspiring, heartfelt, and such a celebration of the makers who make our guild what it is.
