Anthony's Army Raising and spreading awareness for Pediatric Brain Tumors and encouraging people to smile, be kind, and lend a helping hand. No one became broke by giving

On September 24th, 2014 after a short illness, Anthony Michael Muoio was admitted to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital after having been diagnosed with a brain tumor. A nine hour surgery was successful in removing the Caroid Plexus Papilloma. After fourteen days in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Anthony returned home to recover with his family. Anthony is thriving and received a tumor free fo

His infectious smile through all this heart ache has pulled at the heart strings of his family, friends, and the entire community that rallied around his during his recovery. He will continue to receive follow up care and observance by Dr. Michael DiLuna and his staff at Yale New Haven Hospital. Currently, Anthony will be going for MRIs every three months. As his parents, we recognize how lucky Anthony and all of us were for this miraculous outcome. Anthony's Army is a non-profit organization we are setting up in an effort to support other parents and children in the PICU at Yale who might not be blessed with all the love and support that surrounded us as Anthony fought for his life! This page will serve to update you all on Anthony as he grows and develops. It will also be used to bring awareness to Pediatric Brain Tumors. And last but not least, it will help you all be involved with us as we give back to the children of the Yale PICU in Anthony's honor. Feel free to share with friends and post to Anthony's timeline! We look forward to this new journey with all of you. Together we have all become

What makes me happy? It’s not what I have, it’s who I have. ❤️
The people who make me laugh, support me, and make life meaningful are my greatest blessing. At the end of the day, it’s the we share that matter most. ✨

Amazing night on the ball field with the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance! 🩶⚾️

Anthony got the chance to walk the field at the Hartford Yard Goats Brain Tumor Awareness Night and throw out a first pitch with fellow brain tumor survivor Braylen Wimmer behind the plate. He took the mound surrounded by amazing kids and adults who have fought a battle no one should have to understand, yet somehow carry it with so much strength and heart.

But honestly, the best part of the night was the people. Seeing Conor, John, Michelle, and Rowan again after way too long, spending time together like no time had passed, reconnecting with families we haven’t seen in a while, and meeting new ones who instantly “get it” without needing every detail explained.

There’s just something different about being around people who understand this life — the fear, the gratitude, the trauma, the victories, the lifelong survivorship journey, and all the complicated things in between. It’s a club nobody asks to be part of, but the connections within it are real and lasting.

A really good night with really good people. 🧠💛
