We ask that you please continue to share our Executive Director job posting. Share this with in your network of family, friends, colleagues and church families. Ask them to share it as well, you never who might know who it might reach!

Dear Camp Mack Friends,

Greetings from your Indiana Camp Board in the midst of our joyful and faith-filled summer camp season! Camp Alexander Mack continues to be a sanctuary of holy hospitality where all people are welcomed to connect with God, experience creation, and build Christian community.

As many of you are aware, we are saying goodbye to our faithful Executive Director (ED), Gene Hollenberg. After ten years, Gene’s retirement begins on January 1, 2027. The Indiana Camp Board (ICB) and Camp Mack have spent the past five years laying the groundwork for this moment, and we are well positioned for a smooth and successful transition.

The ICB Search Committee, chaired by our ICB Board Chair, Travis Hartman, and comprised of five other board members, has met frequently over the past two months. The time has come to ask for your help!

Although we are marketing this position through a variety of media outlets, your partnership with us is vital. Have you seen our NEW website at www.campmack.org? The position description and application materials will be available there beginning July 24, with applications accepted through September 12.

Please share this information with anyone in your network who might be interested in the position or might know someone interested in the position. Any inquiries regarding this process should be sent to [email protected], the email account monitored by the search committee.

Please keep Camp Mack Staff and the Indiana Camp Board, as well as all potential candidates, in your prayers during this time of transition and discernment.

May God bless you and keep you,
The Indiana Camp Board Search Committee
Travis Hartman, ICB and Search Committee Chair

We need your help! We are planning to add a new activity to the Camp Mack Festival this year and we want YOUR opinion!

Please vote for which you would like to see at CMF on October 3rd ⬇️

💦 Water Bucket
We have several Camp Mack representatives, this could be staff, alumni, counselors or board members, for you to choose from. Each representative will have a jar that you can make a contribution to, then at a set time during the festival, the representative with the most contributions will get a bucket of water dumped on them.

🥧 Pie in the Face
This will also have several camp representatives to choose from in the same way, but they will get a pie in the face.

🎃 Smashing Pumpkins
Purchase a ticket then grab a hammer or other tools we have available and smash a pumpkin.

The activity with the most votes will be a part of CMF this year. The winning activity will replace Wreck a wreck.

THE MEN CREATING COMMUNITY BOOK STUDY IS BACK!

The Men Creating Community book study will return September 16th at Camp Mack. We will meet the third Wednesday of each month from September thru December. This is a time for prayer, devotion, reflection, fellowship, food and study with other local pastors and church members.

We meet from 9-3 at the Wampler House. We take time for a delicious lunch at the John Kline center, and then take time to walk, talk and rest, before we resume our study from 1:30-3:00.

This session our book for study will be Making it Plain by Drew Hart. “Weaving together narrative history, theology, and practical guidance, Hart compels listeners to engage the best of these faith streams to forge an Anablacktivist faith where everyone belongs, where everyone can thrive, and where everyone matters, especially the last and the least.

The shared wisdom of these faith traditions offers signposts towards a Jesus-shaped, Spirit-filled, community-oriented movement capable of surviving and resisting new mutations of nationalism, racism, and colonialism today.

Adventure Camp 🌄

A group of campers & counselors traveled from Camp Mack all the way to Camp Carmel in North Carolina. They join groups from other Church of the Brethren camps for a week in the mountains! Hiking, vespers with mountain views, a natural water slide, waterfalls & campfires made for a grand adventure!

Women Creating Community's next session starts September 3rd.

Join Yvonne Riege as she leads this faithful, supportive, and reflective community in examining new experiences and adapting to life's myriad surprises.

During eight once-a-month Thursdays, we will consider questions about our own thresholds...
- Am I willing to respond to the soul that lies deep within, and encourage others to do the same?
- If I am always living in my mind, always rushing, always doing, then do I consistently miss the subtle movements of the Spirit. How might I change that?
- Do I really want to know where Love can take me?

This sessions book will be Sacred Threshold: Crossing the Inner Barrier to a Deeper Love, by Paula D'Arcy.

Meetings on 1st Thursday - Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3 9a-3p, lunch included
$125 per half year
Financial aid is available- contact [email protected]

🔆Day Camp 2🔆

Make it camp, but just during the day! Day Campers get to experience all things Camp Mack and then go home with their families each night. Hiking, crafts, fishing, pizza making, four square and more were all on the agenda! Then on the last day campers & their parents could stay one night at camp!
