Meet Informed & Strong SUMMIT Speaker:
Teresa Younger
Teresa C. Younger is the President and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women. She has been on the front lines of some of the most important battles for women’s health, safety and economic justice. She is a tireless advocate and well-respected feminist leader.
Immediately after joining the Foundation, Younger launched a campaign to hold the NFL accountable for violence against women perpetrated by football players. She was the first to publicly call on the league to take a comprehensive approach to preventing violence by examining its advertising, diversity and employment policies. She has commented on NFL in outlets across the country, including ABC World News Tonight, USA Today and The New York Times.
Younger is currently on a national listening tour, reaching out to supporters, grantees, organizational allies and other grassroots women’s rights activists across the country to hear about their work, ideas and the issues women face. She has traveled over 20,000 miles, visiting cities and towns from coast-to- coast building strategic collaborations to strengthen the women’s movement.
A noted speaker, advocate and activist, she has been recognized by many organizations for her commitment to civil rights. She was named to the Older Women’s League Hall of Notables, honored by Planned Parenthood Federation of America as a 2015 Dream Keeper and given Liberty Bank’s Willard M. McRae Community Diversity Award among other honors. Younger serves on several boards — including the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut and Women’s Campaign School at Yale University — and previously served on the board of the National Association of Commissions for Women. Younger is also a member of The Get In Touch Foundation's Consulting Board.
