The South Windsor Pollution Control Department needs your help! This morning 4 of our 11 pump stations had clogged pumps due to sanitizing wipes and paper towels. These items are not designed to breakup when wet. This picture was taken today from the Pleasant Valley Pump Station showing an operator removing the ball of wipes from the pump. Please help spread the word by cross posting.

The Environmental Concerns Coalition is sponsoring Milford Earth Day 2020 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! The 16-quart cooler made from paraffin wax and recycled paper has a weight capacity of 75 pounds and is highly water resistant. Igloo says the RECOOL can keep ice cold for up to 12 hours while holding water for up to five days without leaking.

The Milford Recycling team with Jeremy Grant and Ines Walther were at the Walnut Beach Farmers Market last night sharing how to recycle common items. People were amazed to learn what can and cannot go into the recycling bin. It was an enormous success and everyone walked away with a smile, more knowledge of proper recycling, and a prize. The next table setup will be at the August 1st 6:00pm screening of Straws, a documentary about the problems caused by plastic straws. Come join the fun!
