May 19 is National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Asian and Pacific Islander people living with HIV are too often left out of the conversation on HIV criminalization. Stigma, fear, and lack of community-specific data make these harms more difficult to see.

Congratulations to Louisiana Coalition on Criminalization & Health on the passage of HB 808 on May 13 to align Louisiana’s laws with modern HIV science. This victory was due to years of hard work and dedication and commitment to advocacy. Many congratulations to everyone involved in this historic achievement! See you at the governor’s desk.
