Welcome to Sierra Leone’sIndependence Month-April, literally our month of freedom, but to us at AG Youth Empowerment-freedom is more than a celebration. It is a call to rebuild lives. It is a reminder that true independence begins within people.

At Alphatek Global Youth Empowerment Organization, we see independence as dignity, purpose, and opportunity for every young person.

We believe independence must be created. Not wished for. Through our livelihood skills development and empowerment programs, we are equipping 100s of young people across the country with tools to stand on their own. Skills that feed families. Skills that restore confidence. Skills that turn struggle into strength.

Through AG Youth Empowerment, we go even deeper. We reach young people battling drug addiction and vulnerability. We do not see brokenness. We see potential waiting to rise. We rebuild hope. One life at a time. One opportunity at a time.

Today, their stories are changing. From pain to purpose. From rejection to relevance. From survival to impact. This is what independence looks like. Not just a nation free-but a generation empowered to lead, rebuild, and thrive.

At Alphatek Global Youth Empowerment Organization, our work goes beyond delivering activities—we focus on shaping values and systems thinking among young people.

Captured here is a SmartSort Ambassador from Ronsab Preparatory School delivering a vote of thanks after an impactful training on waste segregation and plastic sorting at source within the school campus under the SmartSort Initiative.

In a radio discussion today at Rise Radio sl 96.3 FM, our National Coordinator Mr Swaliho Mahatma Kanneh had the opportunity to highligh the impactful work A G Youth Empowerment and Alphatek Global Group is doing in advancing waste management and green eco solutions, while reflecting on his journey from grassroots volunteer in Kenema to national advocacy.

In his submission, he had to acknowledged United Nations in Sierra Leone through its Global Plastics Innovation Programme (GPIP) for funding the SmartSort Initiative, thus resulting to the establishment of School and Community Ambassadors and the distribution of colour-coded bins to promote waste segregation.

Speaking to the current waste management challenge within the municipality, he discussed around the impact of the "Clean Salone Boys" and the existing service providers, while maintaining Alphatek as a company's Public-Private Partnership with the Freetown City Council in implementing the Dorti Mus Go campaign, reinforcing the company's coordinated sanitation service delivery and sustainable urban development, which forms the bedrock of our intervention as a company.

February 14 is widely known as Valentine’s Day, a day many young people have increasingly associated with peer pressure, material expectations, and unhealthy relationship choices that undermine self-respect and the empowerment of women and girls.

In response to this growing concern, A G Youth Empowerment - a Youth Led Non Governmental Organization has concluded a two-day radio and school sensitization tour in , delivering impactful messages on self-worth, responsible decision-making, gender respect, and the importance of education over pressure-driven celebrations.

School authorities, pupils, and parents who participated in the radio phone-in programme described the initiative as not only educative and inspiring, but also timely, eye-opening, and highly beneficial.
