We want to provide some important clarification regarding the bear traps that have recently been placed within our community.
These traps were installed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Please note that PWLPOA did not request these traps, nor were they placed by PWLPOA.
The trap is designed for humane relocation. It is a large cylindrical device mounted on a trailer and does not include any metal clamping or harmful mechanisms.
While we understand the concern this may raise, we want to assure you that the PA Game Commission is a state agency authorized to conduct such actions for public safety and wildlife control.
Please be assured that we have contacted the Game Commission for more information.
We kindly ask that residents do not approach, disturb, or tamper with the traps for your safety and the safety of others. If you have specific concerns or questions about the traps, we recommend contacting the PA Game Commission Northeast Region directly at 1-833-742-4868.
