Great job to Eli Cable for finding a deadhead while shed hunting this afternoon! We would like to extend a big thank you to Dan and Blake from the DNR who took the time to speak with the kids about deer and deer antler sheds.

Pack 67 Scouts had fun learning all about fire building at a recent pack meeting. We learned from Cubmaster Brian Forney about using different kindling options, various techniques for setting up and lighting fires, and fire safety. All of our Scouts (and grownup helpers) got to try their new knowledge out first hand thanks to some great fire ring setups at Gull Point State Park.🔥

Pack 67 Cub Scouts learned all about citizenship at today’s pack meeting! We enjoyed hearing from an elected official (mayor of Milford), learned to properly fold the American flag, listened to candidates representing M&Ms and Skittles before participating in a mock election to decide the best snack (M&Ms!), talked about American symbols, and made a bald eagle puppet craft.🗳️🦅🇺🇸

The Bear and Arrow of Light Dens have been busy! We came together for a 1 mile hike at Pioneer Park Nature Preserve where we observed signs of wildlife, drew pictures of things we wanted to remember about our walk, learned about invasive plant species, did some exercises, and even cracked open some galls to see the worms inside!

Kids got to do an evening hike tonight (a little over two miles), sang a song around the campfire, and made some smores. If parents have any photos please share.

Our scouts had a great 3 mile bike ride today, learned a little bit about bike maintenance, being kind and courteous on the trail, items to bring and use on a ride, and how to be safe.

Not a lot of photos as we were all busy riding.

Don't forget to join us next Friday for our evening hike and campfire at Gull Point State Park. Not too late to join the fun, we are always accepting new scouts and families contact us for more information.

A huge thank you goes out to New Tec, Inc. for helping our Cub Scouts learn about and dig with a mini excavator! We enjoyed meeting some new friends and can't wait to get to know them better. JJ was amazing and showed each scout all of the controls! Thanks again, New Tec, Inc., for sharing your equipment and time to make sure that our scouts had a blast. I think they all "dug it"!

The fish were biting (and so were the bugs)!

We had a great afternoon together at Lower Gar State Recreation Area. Thanks to all the kids for fishing safely and helping each other! Thanks to all the parents for making this such a positive experience for the kids (and adults)!

Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow for Scouts, Can You Dig It? at NewTec in Spencer and on the 28th for our Pack bike ride!

We have a lot of fun activities planned throughout the next Month! Come have some fun with the scouts and see what scouting is all about! There is no cost for any of the events this month, come have fun and get your questions answered! We've got fishing, learning about and operating mini excavators, a bike ride, and a night hike and campfire! All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cub Scouts is all about family, bring any and all to partake in the fun.
