Milan Prevention Coalition partners with local community and businesses to achieve more. Today we showcase one batch of local businesses supporting the effort by distributing locking prescription boxes to secure medication in the home.

This month is national Drug Take Back Day. A day that aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means to dispose of your expired and unused prescription meds.
Take Back day is Saturday October twenty-fourth, from ten until two.
The Milan Prevention Coalition will be at the Family Pharmacy behind Macdonald’s in Milan, and at Hester Drug Company in Rutherford. Gather unused or expired medication and prescriptions and set aside for Drug Take Back events in your community. Don't become an accidental drug dealer: count it, lock it, drop it.
Expired medication may also be disposed of at your local Police or Sheriffs Station. Milan Prevention Coalition serves all of Gibson County. : )

🚨CITATION ISSUED: A Jackson man was cited after Milan police say he sold alcohol to an 18-year-old informant in an undercover operation at a Milan liquor store.

According to reporting by Victor Parkins of The Mirror-Exchange, the sting followed a tip from Carroll County investigators looking into incidents from Sept. 26 in which a 15-year-old died in an accident and another juvenile was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.

A citation is an accusation only. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
