Good morning everyone and Happy Earth Day! Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day which was started by U.S. Senator Ga***rd Nelson in 1970 after an oil spill in Santa Barbara, California.
Although we cannot host or join any social events around our communities due to the current circumstances you can still celebrate the earth today! Take a moment to stop, look around and take in all of the beautiful nature around you. Recycling, cleaning up trash around your yard, and planting a tree are all great ways to celebrate the earth from your very own home.

Today we cleaned up the trash along a 1 mile stretch of road in Milan. We collected 18 bags of trash and got to enjoy the beautiful sunny day. Shout out to Milan Cares for inspiring others to take care of their communities. Also thank you to Papa Johns Pizza of Dundee for donating lunch to keep us going.

Dear family and friends,

I am pleased to announce that I am finally in a position to get this organization up and running. I am extremely excited and look forward to taking trips once this virus is handled and we can return to our normal life. With that being said, I could use some help from all of you. In order for these trips to be a success, I need to have the proper gear to outfit the kids. If you find yourself spring cleaning during your time at home and come across gently used hiking gear you would like to part with, please consider donating to Evergreen Expeditions.
Currently, I am looking for backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, hiking boots, and pants.
If you don't have any hiking gear but would still like to help this organization, please consider donating financially to help me fund the trips and buy the neccessary equipment.
