From Abby Machamer:

My parents, Drew and Ellen Machamer were instrumental in getting the Union County WWII Honor Roll monument constructed and finalized in the Mifflinburg
Memorial Park. The site and monument are beautiful in honoring those who joined and served in the military from Union County during WWII. It does require ongoing maintenance, however. The Honor Roll Commemorative Coins were created to honor those who served, celebrate the Nation’s 250th anniversary, honor those who worked endlessly hours hours to make the monument a reality, and to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance required.

The coin design of the monument is from an original artwork of Janette Campbell, a renowned Lewisburg artist, who created the piece for the original fund raiser for the monument. The Bald Eagle image, on the reverse side, was designed for the Nation’s 250th.

The fund raiser is being sponsored by the Machamer family who are graciously asking Mifflinburg American Legion, Post #410, to post this fund raising event on their page to make people aware of the opportunity to participate and own one of these beautiful commemorative coins in support of Union County’s WWII Honor Roll. 100% of all sales go to the Union County Veteran’s Foundation.

Coins can be purchased through Doug Walter at the Union County Veterans Foundation, ([email protected]) or Abby Machamer, ([email protected]).
They will also be available at the Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Mifflinburg Memorial Park, Nov. 7 at 11:00. Payment by cash or check made payable to The Union County Veteran’s Foundation
