The Mifflinburg Children's Fishing Derby We hope to continue this tradition the first Saturday of May for years to come.

In May of 2022, the Mifflinburg Fishing Derby was hosted for the first time in nearly a decade at the Children’s Fishing Area on Buffalo Creek near the Harry Haney Ballfields.

We are finally getting a chance to sit down and reflect on yesterday’s derby! We had a great turnout and want to thank each and every one of you for showing up and hopefully having a great time with friends and family. We want to thank the Englehart family, the American Legion Post 410, the Buffalo Creek Watershed Alliance, and the RB Winter Trout Unlimited for all of their time and effort. Not only for just the day of the derby, but also for the months prior for all the planning and preparations leading up to the main event. We do it for the community and to see all the smiles on the kids faces.

Of course, the Annual Mifflinburg Children’s Fishing Derby would not be possible without all of our amazing sponsors, the Mifflinburg Burough, and the gracious landowners.

The lines have been in the water since 8 am but there is plenty of fish still swimming! Come out and enjoy the sunshine, catch some fish, have lunch, enjoy our educational booths and put some tickets in our Chinese auction and raffle! There’s something here for everyone! The auction and raffle will be drawn at approximately 3pm and fishing for prizes will go until 4pm. We hope to see you here!

Thank you to all who helped get the 700+ fish in the creek this evening! No fishing until tomorrow morning at 8am. The first picture attached is what to look for when the kiddos catch a fish. If there is an orange tag near the dorsal fin, bring the fish and/or the tag to our prize table to claim your prize!

Late Night Post! 🎟️

If you saw our post earlier this week and are wondering what it is that you could win in our raffle, the wait is over. We added 2 more items to our raffle this year so make sure you come to the derby and get your tickets in. You could be one of the lucky winners who takes home a 4 hour guided fishing trip from Koinonia Guide Service, a Pelican kayak, a soft gun case from Cabelas, and this beautiful, hand made blanket!
You can buy tickets for our Raffle, along with the Chinese Auction, anytime from 8am to 3pm with the drawing immediately after. No need to be present for the drawing.

We can’t wait for Saturday and hope to see you all there for a fun day of fishing! 🎣
