Hi everyone, it's almost the weekend!
We are entering a rainy pattern starting NOW. OK, starting this morning.
We'll have scattered thunderstorms through the evening tonight and into tomorrow morning although chances will drop as the night goes on.
There is also the potential for localized flooding tonight. Flooding is often one of those weather hazards that doesn't seem as important when we are talking about hail and tornadoes and such, but flooding causes more storm-related deaths than any other thunderstorm related hazard. I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Turn Around, Don't Drown". Whether you are in a vehicle or on foot, stay OUT of flood water.
As an aside, if you're going to be in Atlanta any time soon, avoid the robotaxis if it's raining. So far, two of them have driven into flood waters and stalled there.
Tomorrow night, we have a marginal risk for severe storms, with the main risks being wind and hail. For us, the timing will be later on, so if you have outdoor activities planned, the earlier you can wrap them up the better. We could see storms as early as 7PM, more likely after 9PM.
Today is cool, temps will warm up starting tomorrow to very nice upper 70s/lower 80s. The weekend has a pretty good chance of being rainy at least parts of both days. Good luck trying to find a window when you can mow.
The drought got a little help today, hopefully that pattern will continue, although I will say, and I'm looking at YOU, Mother Nature, it would be nice if the rain could come not on the weekends.
Have a great weekend, everyone, even if it is a rainy one.
Mañana (viernes) por la noche existe una posibilidad mínima de que se produzcan fenómenos meteorológicos adversos. El granizo y el viento serán las principales amenazas. Por favor, manténganse atentos a la evolución del tiempo durante toda la noche.
