Well I don’t know where to begin with all the thank you’s… there are so many of you that selflessly showed up this last weekend to support our way of life. You all could have went hunting this weekend, but instead you chose to take you and your dogs time from the woods to help ensure that we can keep them in the woods the rest of the time. These events are one of the only ways our clubs make money so that we can have funds to fight the antis and not just here in Idaho, but all over the country. Also it is not just funds that do the fighting, it’s relationships, the ones that are built on spending time with one another and being familiar, so that when the time comes to fight we know exactly who is standing next to us. The people that understand this and have ever chosen to sacrifice their time in the woods to help their local club, just know that you are the heartbeat of this tradition and you are the reason we have a voice and I am so grateful for every houndsmen past or present who have made that sacrifice 🖤 A shout out to our board members - thank you for all your time and what you do for all of us. Our secretary Brandi Elam and our Treasurer Tara Hunt along with the help of Tiffany Hilton (soon to be Tiffany Kidd) you guys ran our booth more smoothly, and with kindness to boot, than I have ever seen personally. If you are planning on coming out to the trials from Emmett and have been to the old trials, you will want to stay to the right at the Big Flat / 4 mile intersection and stay on Big Flat until you see the trials on the right.

Sign ups start @ 7 and run till 8
Races start between 8:30 & 9

We will not be offering any food out at the trials, so bring your own food 😁 there is plenty of dog water though!

Getting our trophies ready!
A dear beloved houndsmen passed away recently and his family donated all his trophies to the IHA to be reused ❤️ what an awesome collection!! I really enjoyed looking through all of them🐾

Here’s an update on the farm bill to the best of my understanding… It has passed through the House of Agriculture Committee, it will now move forward to The House. This means call your state congressman- if you’re in Idaho that would be
Congressman Mike Simpson (202)225-5531 and
Congressman Russ Fulcher (202)225-6611
Both of those numbers are for their DC offices.
Ask for them to remove the Greyhound Protection Act from the Farm Bill. Don’t just count on your local club officials to due all the homework- look it up for yourself- get involved learn for yourself what it actually says and what’s going on with it. If we want to be around for a while, then we need more people to take initiative to make sure we are all involved and doing our part not just following, in other words don’t be afraid to grab the track and run with it yourself!

Although it does specify that it only pertains to Greyhounds I AM NOT OKAY with that either.
I’m not interested in “Editing” it.
The entire Amendment needs removed. These Greyhounds deserve to have their freedoms as well !!! The extremists behind this are crooked and stealthy and have been quoted several times that they will go “species by species and state by state until all hunting is stopped” But they don’t just stop at hunting, they don’t even want people to own gold fish !! Anything that involves animals they want stopped, and when they get a win they are one step closer to their goal. Don’t just fold because it only involves Greyhound racing because if they win one they are that much closer to moving on to their next target. Don’t let them get anything!! A loose to the antis in any form is a loose for ALL of us!

The IHA would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who came to support us Saturday at our banquet. We were honored to have you and your families join us.
There was few things that I would like to do different next year that didn’t quite settle right with me at this banquet and with that being said we are welcoming attendees to reach out to us with your thoughts… what did you like and what didn’t you like? We put together these events to raise money, but in order to do that we need to make sure we are serving our members well, so please contact us with your suggestions or even better come to our next meeting for an open discussion on it!
Again we thank you all sooo much for your support. We enjoyed seeing everyone come together for a great cause and to celebrate our passion🐾
