The Carter Hugh Epperly Foundation wishes all students, teachers, and families an amazing start to the new school year. We’re excited to continue our mission of supporting local students as we kick off fundraising for our next round of scholarships for the Class of 2027.

Last year, in our very first year, we were honored to award five scholarships to deserving students — a milestone made possible by your generosity and support.

We’re also thrilled to share that the Foundation will be at the Powhatan Festival of the Grape this year. Stop by, say hello, and learn more about how you can help us empower the next generation.

Here’s to a great year ahead and to making a difference together.

When we started this journey to remember Carter and give back, we had no idea the outpouring of support that we would receive would be so overwhelming. Today marks the 2nd anniversary of Carters passing. This evening, the Carter High Epperly Foundation Board met to review and select the recipients of the inaugural foundation scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have selected 5 recipients for scholarships this year. This exceeds our modest expectations and targets when we started on this adventure a year ago. Recipients will be informed of their scholarship award the evening of May 18 at the Powhatan High School Senior awards ceremony. We sincerely appreciate the donations and support and look forward to sharing the names of the recipients after May 18.
