With grateful hearts, we say THANK YOU! ❤️

As we prepare to welcome Father Nic to St. Matthias', we want to take a moment to recognize the wonderful clergy who so generously stepped in to worship with us and care for our parish during this season of transition.

Our heartfelt thanks to Rev. David Keill, Rev. Canon Jeunée Godsey, and Rev. Ralph Kirkpatrick for sharing your time, your gifts, your wisdom, and your ministry with St. Matthias'.

Transitions can bring uncertainty, but you helped make these summer Sundays feel familiar, joyful, and grounded. We are so grateful for the care you showed our congregation and for being part of our St. Matthias' family this summer.

📖 Tuesday Morning Men’s Group — New Study Beginning September 1st

Looking for a place for conversation, fellowship, and a deeper exploration of faith?

Beginning Tuesday, September 1st, the St. Matthias’ Tuesday Morning Men’s Group will begin a new study of Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Brant Pitre

Together, the group will explore the biblical and Jewish roots of the Eucharist and consider how understanding its history can deepen the way we experience Communion today.

All men are welcome to join the conversation! Whether you’ve been part of the Men’s Group before or are thinking about joining for the first time, this is a great opportunity to jump in.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day from St. Matthias’! 🐾

If you’ve stopped by the church during the week, there’s a good chance you’ve been welcomed by one of the most enthusiastic members of our hospitality team — Stella, Brother Mark’s Boston Terrier! ❤️

Stella takes her unofficial role as church greeter very seriously. She’s a bundle of joy who loves meeting all the wonderful people who come through our doors—and she’s always happy to accept a little attention or a belly rub as part of the job.

Today, on National Dog Day, we’re celebrating Stella and all the four-legged companions who bring so much joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our lives.

Give Stella a little extra love the next time you see her! 🐶🐾

For a $25 donation, you can send a flock of bright pink flamingos to decorate a friend's yard. Want to make sure the flock passes your house by? Purchase Flamingo Insurance instead!

On Tuesday, September 22nd, the Senior and Junior Wardens will host Town Hall Meeting and Potluck to provide greater transparency and create opportunities for open conversation about the life of St. Matthias'. This gathering will be a chance to hear updates on church initiatives, ask questions, and discuss both opportunities and challenges as we continue growing together as a parish community. A link will be sent out prior to the meeting for questions to be asked. If you are not able to attend please submit your questions and look out for the answers that will be posted.

During yesterday’s service, the Senior and Junior Warden (Jeff Burke and Kathy Greatwood) presented the discernment committee with a thank you gift for all the hard work they did over the course of 400+ days to find our new Rector.

With heartfelt appreciation, we thank Donald C. Williams, Rick Kolster, Martin Beekman, Michelle Henry, Veronica Kirkland, Herbert Norman, Marcia Oglesby, Tim Pearrell, and Scott Vollmer for faithfully serving our parish throughout this process.

We are very grateful for the support that the congregation has provided, both in food, as well as monetary donations, that enable us to continue to help so many in our community that are food insecure! So many are blessed by this ministry.

Food pantry needs can include:
Boxed Cereal, Crackers, Hearty Soup, Jelly, Mac-n-Cheese, Boxed Pasta, Canned, Pasta, Tuna, Spaghetti, Canned Vegetables, Canned Chicken, Feminine hygiene products, canned tomatoes, canned peas, canned carrots.

Items can be dropped off during normal office hours, or placed in the blessings basket on Sunday.
