Find Your Voice with Young Midlothian Singers. Young Midlothian Singers provides children ages 7-18 a well-rounded choral experience through education and performance. Whether your child wants to star on Broadway or in their own backyard, we strive to foster both vocal ability and a life-long love of music. Our approach incorporates the joy of singing, the challenge of learning and the excitement
of performing! We have a Fall, Winter, and Spring Session. We also have Summer Camps. Winter Session is underway, but Spring will be here soon. We'd love to have you join us. There aren't any audition requirements for YMS (our main group). However, middle school and high school students are eligible to audition for Encore (Our select group) in May. We normally prefer for singers to sing with YMS for an entire year before auditioning for Encore, but if your child has been singing in their school and/or church choir, they will still be welcome to audition this May. (We hold auditions in May for the following school year.) We perform for our Friends & Family at the end of every session, and also perform in the community. From now until the end of our season (in June), we already have performances lined up at JTCC's Fool for Art Festival, Maymont's Easter Celebration, a Richmond Flying Squirrels Game, as well as the Veterans' Hospital and assisted living centers.
